Obituary of Edward G. Slade

Edward G. Slade, age 63 of Iowa City died Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at the University of Iowa Hospitals, Downtown Campus.

Funeral services will be held at 4pm Friday, November 1, 2024, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service where there will be a time of visitation from 2pm until services on Friday.  In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.  

Edward G. “Eddie” Slade was born July 13, 1961, in Iowa City the son of Richard and Roberta (Cooper) Slade.  Following graduation from West High School he moved to the Chicago area where he lived until moving back to Iowa City in 2013 to be near family.

His family includes his father, Richard; sisters, Laura Sir and Thora Slade; 6 nieces and nephews, uncles Mike Slade (Shirley) and Bob Slade; and many other family and friends.  Eddie was preceded in death by his mother, Roberta; grandparents and numerous uncles.
