Sympathies as you prepare to celebrate the life of this beautiful lady. I remember her fondly from my days at City High where she worked in the library. She was always very helpful and kind. I also knew her through First United Methodist Church where she always greeted everyone with her contagious smile. It was a pleasure to know her and I'm grateful for the gift of Marilyn Neely.
We were so sad to hear of Marilyn’s passing. Her smile and enthusiasm has been with us all for so many years. Happy we visited shortly before her passing at an IOWA game! We had so much fun putting shows together for Masonic fund raisers. Our costumes were hilarious! After my mom was gone, Marilyn was my guiding advisor. We always laughed a lot! I know you are busy in heaven organizing whatever needs organizing. Rest, dear friend.
I knew Marilyn and Marion for many years, and they were extremely kind and engaged people. Thank you for this lovely obituary. I learned so much more about her! Sincerely, Susan Frye.
The last time I recall seeing Marilyn She was crossing the bridge on Melrose on her way to a Hawkeye football game, dressed, of course inappropriate black and gold regalia. We worked together at both Northwest Junior High and City High School and I do remember her big smile and her positive attitude. Sincere condolences.
It was with great sadness that we learned and read of the passing of Marilyn. A bright light with an almost ever present smile accept for occasional Hawkeye losses. We always enjoyed seeing her at special events. We felt connected with her proud posts featuring her children , grandchildren, travel, and adventures. Condolences to all! Rand and Cyndi Fisher
