Sympathy to the family of Tom....former coworker at IC Fire Department....Gene & Mary K Wissink..

I worked with Tom's mother at the Assessors Office and then with Tom when he worked for the county. In my interactions with Tom, I found him to be a genuine and honest man. My sympathy goes out to all his family as I choose to remember him as the man I worked alongside many years ago.

When I started in the fire service in 1991, Tom was a mentor. He was someone that always had time for you, something I really appreciated. His advice was sound, and came from many years of experience. He was an asset to the community.

I met Tom when I was a Coralville Firefighter 1970-1990. Tom used to come to our Fire Station and hold Training Classes.I spent many an evening with Tom as he worked hard to the Coralville Fire Department 'up to speed' on firefighting tactics, etc. HE had a lot of enthusiasm for his job and for working to make us better at our job! We consider Tom a great guy, a brother Firefighter, and a good friend.

The very first & Lasting impression.Of Tom Hansen Sr. That comes to Mind for me. Is he’s very Humble & lasting Smile that he shared with everyone, Who were lucky enough to have met him…He worked the Same Shift, At the ICFD.. As my father John ( Chip ) Fay… And that group of Men were the Best… Tom was also very willing to do his Absolute Best. At the ICFD.. And to be sure the job was Done & Done Right. Rest in Peace Tom Hansen..

The day Courtney was born stands out because of the smile that Tom wore for days, and that he bought Roses for Momma and baby girl Courtney. He was so happy and proud. My condolences to the whole Hansen family.
