Obituary of Theda Lee Johnson
Theda Lee Johnson, formerly of 715 6th Avenue, Iowa City died Tuesday, August 2, 2005 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, August 6, 2005, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City with burial at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Iowa City. Visitation will be from 4 to 6pm Friday at the funeral home. Memorial donations can be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society. Online condolences may be sent for her family through our website @www.gayandciha.com. Theda Lee Miller was born February 26, 1917, in Temple. Texas the daughter of Mac and Rose (Swain) Miller. She married Olin Lloyd Sr. in San Saba, Texas. For a number of years she worked as a nursing assistant at the Veterans Administration Hospital. in Iowa City. Those who knew Theda, knew a very kind and generous person. One who loved to fish, one who so loved her family and friends and will be missed by all. Her family includes her son and his wife, Olin L. Lloyd Jr. and Rene of Iowa City; four grandchildren, John Lloyd and his wife, Michelle of Iowa City, Cynthia L. Hotka and her husband, Gary of Iowa City, Gerry W. Lloyd and his wife, Lois of Ottumwa, and Janice R. Willhite of Carlton, GA; and ten great-grandchildren, Jacob Lloyd, Jessica Lloyd, Morgan Hotka, Melanie Hochenson and her husband, Reid, Joseph Hotka, Geoffrey Lloyd, Daniel Lloyd, Kyle Lloyd, Malia Lloyd and Lanea Lloyd; and a sister, Maxine Lockhart of Iowa City. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Olin L. Lloyd Sr., three brothers, Harold, John and Orville Miller; one great-grandson, Matthew Lloyd and two nephews and a niece.
