Obituary of Ervin E. Lovetinsky

Ervin E. “Erv” Lovetinsky, age 78 of 307 6th. Street, Coralville died Thursday, March 3, 2005, at Windmill Manor in Coralville following an extended struggle with COPD - Chronic Pulmonary Obstructive Disease. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 7, 2005, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City, with burial at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Coralville. Visitation will be from 2 to 6pm Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial donations can be made in Erv’s memory to Amenity Hospice @ 211 1st. Avenue SE, Cedar Rapids, Iowa 52401. Light refreshments will be served following the services prior to going to the cemetery on Monday. Online condolences may be sent for Erv’s family through our website @www.gayandciha.com. Erv was born January 18, 1927 in rural Johnson County, Near Solon the son of Edward and Cora (Prizler) Lovetinsky. He married M. Pauline Anderlik December 22, 1949, in Iowa City. The couple lived all of their married lives in the home that Erv built in Coralville. An auto mechanic by trade, Erv owned and operated Erv Lovetinsky Auto Service on Madison Street in Iowa City for many years retiring in 1990. For many, Erv was the man who could fix everything with their cars, but he was also a good and kind man, who appreciated the quality of life, his family, customers and friends. His family includes his wife, Pauline; brothers, Robert Lovetinsky of Iowa City, Wayne Lovetinsky and his wife, Dorothy of Cedar Rapids, Carlos “John” Lovetinsky and his wife, Mary of North Liberty, Richard Lovetinsky of Kalona, and Dean Lovetinsky and his wife, Marlee of Iowa City; one sister, Bertilla Farrier of Scottsdale, AZ. Erv was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Jill Kristine in 1970, and an infant sister. Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service is caring for Erv’s family and his services.
