Obituary of Edith M. Wilson
Edith M. Wilson, age 90, formerly of 125 Lowell, Iowa City died at Atrium Village in Hills, Friday January 28, 2005 of a lengthy illness. Funeral Services will be held 3 pm Tuesday at the Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City with Reverend Renee Lunemann officiating. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Iowa City. Family and Friends are invited to attend the visitation at 1 pm Tuesday. Memorial Donations can be made in Ediths name to Atrium Village in Hills or Hospice of Iowa City. Edith was born August 15, 1914 to George and Frances Prybil in Iowa City. She was a lifetime resident of Iowa City and the Johnson County area. Edith graduated from University High School in 1932. For many years she worked as a secretary for the Law firm of Meardon, Sueppel, Downer and Hayes. She also worked for the City of Iowa City in the years following. As well as these careers Edith volunteered her time and love at the Veterans Administration Hospital and Mercy Hospital both in Iowa City. In 1999 Edith moved to Atrium Village in Hills where she resided until her death. Edith was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary #17, Women of the Moose, the Eagles Auxiliary and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary # 3949. Her family includes her sister Florence Glasgow of Iowa City; Nephews and their spouses Bernard and Rowena Prybil and Eldon and Linda Prybil and Dan and Karmella Glasgow and Jim Glasgow of Iowa City, Bill and Carolyn Glasgow of Clearwater, Florida; Nieces Joanne Reis of Middleton, Wisconsin and Ellen Farone of Michigan. Ediths family also includes her step-son David and his wife Carol Wilson of Wellman and step-daughter Ruth Hendrix of Kentucky. Edith was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband Everett and her brother Ralph Prybil of Iowa City.
