Obituary of Merrill D. Krueger

Merrill D. Krueger, age 87, formerly of Iowa City died Saturday, December 3, 2005, at Windmill Manor Care Center in Coralville following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 4 pm, Saturday, December 10, 2005, at Gay & Ciha Funeral Home in Iowa City with the Reverend Donnita Payne Hostetler officiating. Visitation will be from 1 pm Saturday until services at the funeral home. Memorial donations can be made to Amenity Hospice @ 211 1st. Ave., Cedar Rapids, IA 52401. Merrill DeWayne Krueger was born March 8, 1918, in Lone Tree, Iowa, the son of John and Helen (Rasche) Krueger. On August 23, 1936, he married C. Lucy Ball in Davenport, Iowa. He was employed by the University of Iowa for over twenty-seven years in the HVAC Department. His family includes a son, Larry Krueger and his wife, Joyce (Smith) of Chesterfield, MO; three grandchildren, Tim and Karin (Hartmann), Tony and Bonnie (Olsen) and Holly and Paul (Goldblum); nine great-grandchildren, Alexandria, Parker, Ayden, Michael, Brandon, Adam, Elise Krueger; Jacob and Sarah Goldblum, all of the St. Louis area, and a brother, Delbert Krueger of Riverside. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lucy; a grandson, Christopher; and a brother, Ellard. Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service is caring for Merrill’s family.
