Condolences
It was a joy to work with Cheryl while I was at UAY working in the mentoring program. She was so kind and thoughtful. She understood kids and families and always had their best interest at heart. I know Cheryl will be missed by all those that knew her.
I always enjoyed staffing cases with Cheryl and using her guidance to better my social work practice. She made recieving blankets for me after my daughter was born and to this day those blankets are used. She was a great person and my condolences to her family.
I remember Cheryl and a sweet, gentle friend with a super great smile.
My thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends.
Blessings,
Deborah Covault O'Donnell
Cheryl was always so kind, so gentle in her words but yet such a strong advocate for the safety of children and doing what needed to get done in order to insure that. She was a very incredible supervisor and person and will be deeply missed. Cheryl truly impacted the world of child welfare and those around her.
I was blessed to graduate from high school in Cheryl's class. I don't ever remember her without a smile and a kind word. May your good memories, and the love of friends, family, and our Heavenly Father bring you peace.
In sincere sympathy,
Debbie (Merritt) Menning

I am so sorry to hear of Cheryl's passing. We were coworkers at DHS for many years. She was a delightful and caring person, a joy to work with. After retirement, we enjoyed sharing 'gramma' notes. She will be missed. Verla Pitzen
I worked under Cheryl's administration for many years at DHS. She was a very dedicated professional and gave a great deal of her life to the betterment of the community and society at large. She seemed to be a tireless worker and a very giving person. The world is a better place for her having passed through it. I extend my deepest condolences to her family, loved ones, and friends. I am so sorry for your loss. Moe Wadle

Cheryl was a beautiful person inside and out. Always asking about and caring for others. A wonderful gardener, quilter, cook...what couldn't she do! A person one strived to be more like...an especially good listener. She will be missed greatly, but her spirit will live on forever in the lives of those she touched! Cheryl was an outstanding person, great social worker and one of the most dedicated public administrators I knew. DHS in Johnson County was much the better for her service. I wasn't aware that she was ill and so was shocked to read of her passing. All of us are poorer without her and my sympathy to her family. Pat
I worked with Cheryl for five years. She was always a good person to work with and pleasant to be around. My condolences to her family and friends.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all; Cheryl was a great person!! My condolences.
I worked with (for) Cheryl for many years at Johnson County DHS, until she retired. Cheryl was a hard worker, strong advocate and soft-spoken presence and it was a pleasure to know her. I'm so sad to hear of her passing.
I got a very upsetting phone call from a johnson county master gardener last night after she read her Gazette. I'm sure I personally may have run into CHeryl while vounteering and others have had closer relationships to CHeryl through the Johnson COunty Master Gardeners. and all of the master gardeners are sending their thoughts and prayers to all of CHeryl's family. She will be missed by everyone who knew her.

I was so blessed to have Cheryl as my Match Specialist through BBBS. I still remember when she introduced me to Laci. That was seven years ago. She became a friend and I held her in such respect and regard for her wisdom and care for all her matches. My prayers are with your family .
Words cannot describe Cheryl, whose main concern was always others rather than herself. May you be comforted by knowing how much she loved you all and by knowing you provided her a gift by allowing her to remain at home through her illness. May your memories be of the great times together. We will be with you in spirit on Thursday.
Sincerely, Lori Ziegenhorn and Murray Bouschlicher
