Obituary of Betty G. Lodge
Betty G. Lodge, age 73 of rural West Branch, died Tuesday, March 2, 2004,at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 8, 2004, at the St. Bernadette Catholic Church in West Branch with the Reverend Dennis Martin officiating. Burial will be at the West Branch Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. A memorial fund has been established in Bettys memory. (Milligan) Lodge was born December 27, 1930, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa the daughter of William and Pauline (Lesinger) Milligan. She attended Cedar Rapids schools graduating from Wilson High School. For a number of years she worked for Collins Radio in Cedar Rapids. On April 21, 1956, she married Clarence E. Lodge in Cedar Rapids. Since their marriage the couple has farmed south of West Branch. She was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church in West Branch, Altar and Rosary Society, Farm Bureau Women, and the Downey Sew & So Club. Betty enjoyed quilting for many years, with her family and friends being the receipants of her labors of love. Bettys family includes her husband, Clarence; daughters and their husbands, Sandi and Michael Donoghue, Barb and Bill Ciha of West Branch, and Nancy and Gary Milder of West Branch; sons and their wives, Mark and Pam Lodge of Georgetown, TX, and Mike and Mindy Lodge of West Branch; seven grandchildren, Patrick, Emily, HarleyJo, Amber, Taylor, Taylor, and Tanner; brothers, Donald Milligan and Vernon Milligan both of Cedar Rapids. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Harold Milligan.
