Obituary of Ilda A. Mcginn

Ilda “Ike” (Fecht) McGinn, 82, of Hills, Iowa and formerly of Iowa City and Waterloo died November 22 of end-stage Alzheimer’s disease. Graveside service will be at noon on Tuesday November 25 at Orange Township Cemetery near Waterloo, Iowa, by Rev. Nate Frasee. Survivors include a daughter, Marlea O’Brien and husband Patrick O’Brien of Iowa City and their two children Benjamin and Sarah; daughter-in-law Terri Fecht and her son Andrew, of Cedar Falls; and nephew Harlan Morrisson and his wife Kathy, of Waterloo. Ike was preceded in death by her parents; her sister; two husbands; and her son. Born August 12, 1921 to Ross and Mina Morrisson, Ike married Edward Glenn Fecht on August 3, 1940, bearing two children, Glenn and Marlea. Edward Fecht died in 1975. On June 26, 1981, Ike remarried Charles McGinn of Waverly, Iowa. Charles died in 1992. Ike’s son Glenn passed away in 2001. Since 1998 Ike resided at Atrium Village in Hills, Iowa. The staff and residents there have formed a loving part of her family since then. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are encouraged to Atrium Village of 117 3 Street S, Hills, Iowa, 52235.
