Obituary of Opal Irene Crotty

Opal Irene Crotty of Bickford Cottage, Iowa City died Thursday, September 4, 2003, at Bickford Cottage, an assisted living home. Funeral services are pending in Gilmore City, Iowa. Opal’s home was in Gilmore City before moving to Ft. Dodge where she resided at Sterling House for several years before moving to Iowa City to be near her daughter and her family. Her family includes her daughter, Judy Jensen-Trieber and her husband, Rick Treiber of Iowa City; grandson, Marcus Jensen and his wife, Chikako and their children, Rick Ito and Joe Ito Jensen all of Nagano, Japan; two step-grandchildren, Tonya McCain and Michelle Fritz and their families. Memorial donations can be made in Opal’s memory to Iowa City Hospice. Local arrangments were handled by Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service. The Schellhammer-Harris Funeral Home of Gilmore City is handling services in Gilmore City.
