Obituary of Ronald Grant Nelson

Ronald G. Nelson, age 55 of North Liberty died Wednesday, September 7, 2005, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City following a lengthy illness. A gathering for family and friends will be held from 4pm to 7pm Saturday at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. Family services at the North English Cemetery will be held at a later date. In Lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Ronnie’s memory. Ronald Grant Nelson was born December 13, 1949 in North English, Iowa the son of Grant and Elsie (Stausser) Nelson. He attended schools in the Deep River-Millersburg school district. During the Vietnam War he served his country in the United States Army. He moved to the North Liberty area over twenty years ago where he was self-employed in small engine repair and worked for Menards in Cedar Rapids. His family includes his mothers, Elsie Nelson of Wellman, and JoAnn Nelson of North Liberty and his sister, Kay Nelson and her partner in life, Lynn Wakanda of North Liberty. Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service of Iowa City is caring for Ronnie’s family and his services.
