Obituary of Robert Gustoff

Robert L. “Rob” Gustoff Jr., age 48, of 3175 Hwy 22, Riverside died on Monday, July 19, 2004 at his home. Funeral services will be at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 22, 2004 at Gay and Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. In Lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the Rob Gustoff memorial fund. Donations may be left at the funeral home or sent to, Peoples Trust and Savings Bank, 90 E. Railroad St., Riverside, Iowa 52327. Online condolences may be sent for family through our website @www.gayandciha.com. Robert Lee Gustoff Jr. was born on July 28, 1955 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa the son of Robert and Joyce (Myers) Gustoff. He graduated from Solon High School and attended Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids. On February 17, 1978 he married Pam Snyder in Cedar Rapids. For many years Rob owned Old Capital Cab Company in Iowa City. He was recently employed as a scale operator for S & G Materials Sand Plant. Rob was a multi talented husband, father and friend. He enjoyed camping, boating, family gatherings and cooking. Rob will be remembered for his humor and his willingness to help others, often times at his own expense. The needs of his family always came before his own, he will be missed by all that knew him. His family includes his wife, Pam of Riverside, children, Melissa Gustoff of Iowa City, Mindy Gustoff and Jeff Gustoff both of Riverside, his parents, Bob and Joyce Gustoff of Solon, brother Dave and wife, Linda of Cedar Rapids, their children, Andrea, Amanda and Rachel, sister in-law, Penny Gustoff of Riverside, her children Steve Jr., Larry, Shavell, and Wendy, his best friend Dave Willoughby of Riverside along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death in death by his brother, Steve on March 19, 2004, grandparents William and Wilma Gustoff and Garland and Hazel Myers.
