Obituary of Florence L. Schlote

Florence L. Schlote, age 80 of 1402 Plum Street, Iowa City died Tuesday, October 21, 2003 at the Greenwood Manor Care Center in Iowa City following a brief illness. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday October 23, 2003 at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Florence Lorraine Schlote was born April 19, 1923 in Johnson County, Iowa the daughter of William and Adeline (Medulan) Divishek. She attended Cedar Rapids Schools, graduating from Wilson High School. In June of 1952, she married John L. Schlote in Cedar Rapids. For a number of years she worked at F.W. Woolworth’s in Cedar Rapids, and Sheller Globe in Iowa City. Her family includes her husband, John; daughter, Penny Schlote of Iowa City and son, Randy Schlote of Iowa City. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Wilma Nortman.
