Obituary of Vivian H. Klotz

Vivian H. Klotz, age 94, of Wellman and formerly of Iowa City, died on November 15, 2004 at Parkview Manor Care Center following a brief illness. Funeral services will at 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 19, 2004 at Gay and Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 until service time at 1:00 p.m. Friday. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Vivian Klotz memorial fund. Online condolences may be sent for family through our website @ www.gayandciha.com. Vivian was born on October 18, 1910 near Oskaloosa, Iowa the daughter of Charles A. and Bertha Lunt Henry. She graduated from Oskaloosa High School and Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls. For several years she worked as an elementary school teacher. She married Donald D. Klotz on February 7, 1951 in Iowa City. Vivian then worked as a secretary in the Department of Otolaryngology at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. In the fall of 1995 they moved to a retirement community in Wellman, and in 1998 to Parkview Manor Care Center. Her family includes her nephews and their spouses, Charles and Mary Beth Tyrrel of New Sharon, Iowa, Jack and Luane Tyrrel of Columbus Junction, Iowa, Charles and Margaret Henry of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Rick and Kathy Henry of Kalamazoo, Michigan, along with numerous great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister, Maxine and a brother, Howard. Gay and Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service is caring for Vivian’s family and her services.
