Obituary of John C. Miller
His family includes his wife, Loretta; son and his wife, Richard and Judy Miller of Solon, three grandchildren, Christopher J. Miller of Seward, NE, Terrance P. and his wife, Rhonda Miller of Solon, Jodi M. Palmer and her husband, Adam of Cedar Rapids; two great-grandchildren, Cole and Brooke Miller; two brothers, Earl Miller of Solon, and Laurence and his wife, Mary Miller of Iowa City; and a niece and nephews. John was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Albert.
John Cletus Miller was born August 8, 1916, near Solon, the son of Raymond and Mae (Campion) Miller. John Graduated from high school in Solon. On October 25, 1941, he married Loretta Alice Wieser at the Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Dubuque, Iowa. In March of 1942, he was called to serve his country in the United States Army during World War II. Following service, he returned to the Solon area where he and his family have farmed for all his life.
He was a member of the St. Marys Catholic Church, Steinbrech Post No. 222 of the Solon American Legion and the Catholic Order of Foresters.
