Very sorry about your loss Murph. Jan was an exceptionally awesome person and I loved getting to hang out with her when I was in IC.
I am incredibly saddened to hear about Jan's passing. She was such a great person and full of life, it is hard to believe she could be gone. She will be missed.

Condolences Murph and family. May you find some peace and comfort today and the days to come.
I was pretty green in the ways of the world, especially with music when I first arrived in Iowa City in 1995. Jan introduced me to the amazing Grateful Dead. She would have long conversations with me about music and life. I loved listening to her records and chilling in the hot tub. I have many many great memories of my time with Jan. She wasn't just an aunt, she was a friend, mentor, and confidant. I will always remember her for her kindness and guidance. And for telling my uncle ("Murph") to take a chill pill hahaha.
I am happy to have had the privilege of crossing paths with such an amazing woman! My sincere sympathy and prayers are with her family.

Murph,
I am so sorry for your loss. She sounds like an unbelievable life partner. Know that you are in my prayers. Bill
Murph & family,
Jan was smart, funny and breathtakingly quick-witted. We shared a love of books, dancing and dark skies. She taught me to canoe the Wapsi, Turkey and Volga without being decapitated by wire strung across those rivers. The world is ordinary without her.
Murph, and members of Jan's extended family,
Murph, So sad to hear about Jan's passing. May she be in peace with all off her animals from the past. I will make some Murph's Meatloaf to honor you and Jan.
Hugs to you and stay strong.
Tim we are so sorry for your loss. We will always remember the goods times we've had at Maquoketa and celebrating with you both the County Johnson Irish parties. Rest in peace Jan you will be missed.
Peace to you Tim and your family at this difficult time. Jan was a community treasure and a lifelong friend/guide/mentor of young people. It was a pleasure knowing and working with her over the years. The positive impact she made on youth is immeasurable. See you around the gym Murph.
So sorry to hear that you have lost Jan. I knew her a few decades ago when she did great work with juveniles and she was a fantastic person then.
Try to avoid overuse injuries running off some of the pain.
My thoughts and prayers are with you, Tim!
Your delightful laugh, love and respect of young people and constant companion of your impressive, running husband will never be forgotten Ms. Jan. Iowa City has lost a legend but your spirit lives on in those that you touched by your goodness and fairness.
