Obituary of Mildred M. Lovetinsky

Mildred M. Lovetinsky, age 87 of 1343 Ozark Ridge, Coralville, died Thursday, April 6, 2006, at Windmill Manor in Coralville. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 10, 2006, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City with the Reverend Tim Malek officiating. Burial will be at the Oakland Cemetery in Iowa City. Visitation will be from 4 to 7pm Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Mildred’s memory to Amenity Hospice @ 211 1st. Avenue SE, Cedar Rapids, Iowa 52401. Sweeting Lovetinsky was born March 29, 1919, in rural Johnson County, Iowa the daughter of David E. and Bessie (Penaz) Sweeting. She graduated from Iowa City City High School in 1938. On August 26, 1940 she married George “Joe” Lovetinsky at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Iowa City. Mildred and Joe founded and operated the Woolshed in Coralville for many years. Mildred was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, former member of the Women of the Moose, and the Wool Growers Association. Her family includes a daughter, Linda Hoffmann and her husband, Dr. Norman Hoffmann of Waynesville, NC; grandson, Tyson Hoffmann and his wife, Alma of Ames; two great-grandchildren, Aramis and Marison Hoffman; and a dear friend for many years, Jay Lionel Mathew. She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Joe. Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service of Iowa City is caring for Mildred’s family and her services.
