Obituary of Raymond A. Potter

Raymond Arthur Potter, 65, of 1060 Scott Park Drive, Iowa City, Iowa went to be with the Lord, Sunday April 16, 2006. Memorial services will be held 1 pm, Wednesday, April 19, 2006 at Peace Christian Reformed Church, Cedar Rapids. Memorials may be given in Raymond's memory to Iowa City Hospice. Online condolences may be sent through our website @ www.gayandciha.com. Raymond was born June 27, 1940 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Morris and Katherine (Schloss) Potter. Raymond was US Navy veteran during the Vietnam War. Raymond had been employed at Frozen Food Express, retiring in June 1995. He was a Bassmasters member and loved NASCAR racing, fishing, his cats and country music. Raymond's family includes a daughter, Cathy and her husband, Cristian Cooney and their children, Tory and Will of Louisville, Kentucky; a son, Mike and his wife, Liz and their children, Katy and Heather of Mesquite, Texas; three sisters, Donna Potter of Cedar Rapids, Carol and her husband, Don Mull of Cedar Rapids and Dianne Gibbons of Tucson, Arizona; two brothers, Dave and his wife, Jan of Cedar Rapids and Mark and his wife Tracy of Atkins, Iowa. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents. Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service, Iowa City is caring for Raymond's family and his services.
