Obituary of Rebecca L. Sprague

Rebecca L. (Westerhoff) Sprague, age 60 of Muscatine died at her home, Friday, May 12, 2006, following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 16, 2006, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. Burial will take place at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Iowa City. Visitation will be after 1pm Tuesday the funeral home. Memorial donations can be made in her memory to the Muscatine County Hospice. Rebecca Lea Frauenholz was born November 20, 1945, in Iowa City the daughter of Earl and Violet (Fountain) Frauenholz. She graduated from Louisa-Muscatine County High School. For many years she lived in Lone Tree, moving to Muscatine nearly 16 years ago. On March 17, 1990, she married Louis S. Sprague in Nichols, Iowa. “Becky” has always enjoyed the outdoors, watching and listening to the birds, riding horses, just being outside with nature. She also enjoyed sewing and embroidering, but most of all she loved being “Grandma”. Her family includes her mother, Violet Frauenholz of West Liberty; Becky’s husband, Louis; children, Terri Hardy and her husband, Scott of Lone Tree, Mark Westerhoff of North Liberty, Scott Westerhoff and his wife, Angie of Riverside, Steven Sprague and his wife, Lenore of Wilton, and Kevin Sprague and his wife, Teresa of Muscatine; and eleven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father. Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service of Iowa City is caring for Becky’s family and her services.
