Obituary of Nancy L. Heitzman

Nancy L. Heitzman, age 51 of Hills passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, May 14, 2006. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 17, 2006, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hills. Burial will be at the St. Stanislaus Cemetery near Hills. Visitation will be from 4 to 7pm Tuesday at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. Memorial donations can be made in Nancy’s memory to Hills First Responders. Online condolences may be sent for her family through our website @www.gayandciha.com. Nancy was born September 2, 1954, in San Antonio, Texas, the daughter of Lewis and Helen (Perales) Dundon. Their family moved to Iowa when she was eight years old, living in North Liberty and Cedar Rapids, where she graduated from Jefferson High School in 1973. Nancy Dundon married William Heitzman on May 8, 1976. The couple just celebrated their thirtieth wedding anniversary. She had worked at the Golden Corral in Iowa City, Atrium Village in Hills, and at Iowa City City High School. Nancy was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hills. She enjoyed traveling, tending to her flowers, and get togethers with family and friends; especially her nieces and nephews. One thing about Nancy, she was always putting others first. Her family includes her husband, Bill; son and his wife, Dan and Traci Heitzman of Hills; her mother, Helen Dundon of Coralville; sisters, Sue Anderson and Bud Bostwick of Numa, IA, Sally Stange and her husband, Tom of Coralville, Sandra Wray and her husband, Tom of Riverside, Jill Miller and her husband, Bruce of Fairfield; brothers, Sam Dundon and his wife, Barb of Iowa City, and John Dundon and his wife, MaryAnn of Jacksonville, IL; and several beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Lewis Dundon and a brother, Lewie Dundon. Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service of Iowa City is caring for Nancy’s family and her services.
