Obituary of Annette L. Martinez

Annette Martinez, age 50 of North Liberty passed away quietly at Mercy Hospital on Monday evening. She had been under Hospice Care since suffering a stork on Saturday, June 24. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Thursday, July 20, 2006 at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service, Iowa City. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery, West Liberty, Iowa. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 pm Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Annette Martinez Family Trust for the benefit of her children. She attended school in West Liberty graduating in 1975. She was employed for many years at the Lewis Rich Company in West Liberty. She married Heriberto Martinez on March 22, 1986 in West Liberty. She became a homemaker after the birth of her children, moving to North Liberty in 1993. She and the family attended Hope Evangelical Church in North Liberty. Annette and the children looked forward to annual vacations in Mexico to visit members of her husband’s family. Annette was a big hearted person and enjoyed helping others. She enjoyed collecting candles. Annette’s family includes her husband Heriberto of Juarez, Mexico, her sons, Live’ and Brian at home, two brothers, Larry Baker and his wife Sue of Muscatine, David Baker and his wife Roberta of West Liberty, and two sisters Rosemary Beam, and Theresa Baker of Coralville, and several nephews and nieces.
