Obituary of Hazel R. Ressler

Hazel R. Ressler, 88 of Iowa City died Friday, July 28, 2006 at University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics, Iowa City. Funeral services will be 10:30 am, Tuesday, August 1, 2006 at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Services, Iowa City. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 am until service time, Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials in Hazel’s memory may be given to the First United Methodist Church, Iowa City. Online condolences for Hazel’s family may be sent through our website @ www.gayandciha.com. Hazel was born July 22, 1918 in Fairfax, Iowa to George and Anna (Bailey) Adams. She married Dale E. Ressler on June 15, 1940 in Iowa City; he preceded her in death on January 31, 2004. Hazel was a member of First United Methodist Church in Iowa City. Hazel owned and operated Hazel’s Cosmatique of Hair, doing so up to 2005. Hazel enjoyed her work and visiting with her clients. Hazel also enjoyed traveling. Hazel’s family includes a son Dave Ressler of Iowa City; nieces and nephews, Gene Ressler and his wife, Charlotte of California, Kay Ressler and his wife, Gloria of California and Gayle Berggren and her husband, Jerry of Vermont. Hazel was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Services of Iowa City is caring for Hazel’s family and her services.
