Obituary of Dorothy S. Korf

Dorothy S. Korf, age 91 formerly of 1712 E. Court Street, Iowa City died Wednesday, September 27, 2006, at Lantern Park Care and Rehab Center in Coralville. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, September 29, 2006, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. Burial will be at the Wayne Township Cemetery near Olds, Iowa. Visitation will be after 2pm Friday at the funeral home where an Order of Eastern Star Memorial Service will be held at 2:30p.m. Online condolences may be sent for her family through our website @www.gayandciha.com. Dorothy Sarah Korf was born July 8, 1915, in Olds, Iowa the daughter of Frank Joseph and Matilda Ann (Feldman) Korf. Following graduation from Olds High School in 1932 she attended and graduated from Burlington Business College. For a few years she worked in Burlington before moving to Iowa City where she had worked as a secretary in public relations at the Veterans Administration Hospital. She retired in 1976. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church and the Order of Eastern Star. Her love in life was her animals, being at home here in Iowa City, and her farm in Olds, Iowa. Her family includes a cousin, Jackie Hultquist of Bakersfield, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Harold, and two sisters, Ruth and Anna.
