Obituary of Frances L. Stutzman

Frances L. Stutzman, 82 of 502 ½ Clark Street, Iowa City died at her home on Sunday, October 22, 2006. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 25, 2006, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City with the Reverend Sherri Lohman officiating. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Iowa City. Visitation will be from 4 to 7pm Tuesday at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established in Frances's memory. Frances Lois Plowman Stutzman was born March 17, 1924, near Muscatine, Iowa the daughter of Francis and Helen (Martin) Plowman. She was raised in the Letts, Iowa area where she graduated from high school. On August 4, 1951, she married Alfred 'Max" Stutzman. The couple resided in Iowa City since their marriage. Max died June 30, 1994. For a number of years Frances provided daycare for families in Iowa City. She loved children, especially her family. Her family includes her daughter, Connie Beckler and her fiancé, Matt Terrones of Iowa City; granddaughters, Jamie Beckler and Corisa Sexton of Iowa City, and Dana Johnson and her husband, Shaun of Williamsburg, IA; great-granddaughter, Madyson Kruse; brothers, Darrell Plowman (Janet), David Plowman (Nancy), John Plowman (Pauline) William Plowman (Glenda), and Steve Plowman (Janice); sisters, Betty Terry (Harrison), Mildred Wellons, Mary Yocum, Janet Peterson (Pete), and Florence Roberts; sisters-in-law, Shirley Stutzman and Kathleen Stutzman; and brothers-in-law, Russell Stutzman and Richard Stutzman. Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred "Max", her parents, and a brother, Bob Plowman.
