Obituary of Elsie M. Frauenholz

Elsie M. Frauenholz, age 94 formerly of 1929 Delwood Drive, Iowa City, died Friday, November 3, 2006, at Legacy Point in Iowa City. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 7, 2006, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Iowa City. Visitation will be from 4 to 7pm Monday at the funeral home. Memorial donations can be made in Elsie’s memory to Iowa City Hospice. Online condolences may be sent for her family through our website @www.gayandciha.com. Elsie Marie Solomon was born March 1, 1912, in Gladwin, Iowa the daughter of Jesse and Cora Mae (Carr) Solomon. On June 20, 1933, she married Frank L. Frauenholz in Rock Island, IL. The couple has been lifelong farmers, starting south of Iowa City, then for nearly thirty years in the West Liberty area. Upon retiring they moved to Iowa City. Elsie was a former member of the Conesville United Methodist Church. Her family includes, husband, Frank; daughter, Marie Evans and her husband, Joseph “Roy” of Iowa City; son, Ken Frauenholz and his wife, Jean of Swisher; three grandchildren, Robert L. Evans and his wife, Carol, Craig A. Evans and his wife, Kim, and Joni S. Wallace and her husband, Marc; four great-grandchildren, Codie Evans, Colton Evans, Gabe Evans and Chelsea Evans, sister, Cora Maxine Ferguson of Oklahoma; two sisters-in-law, Velma Cox of Iowa City, and Dorothy McArtor of Iowa City. She was preceded in her death by her parents, granddaughter, Dawn Marie Evans, brothers, Ralph and Ray Solomon, and sisters, Edna McIntire and Elva Cushatt.
