Obituary of Judith K. Rarick

Judith K. Rarick, of Iowa City, died Saturday, July 12, 2014, at Mercy Hospice in Iowa City. A memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 17th at Trinity Episcopal Church in Iowa City with internment to follow at the Trinity Columbarium. Records was born October 8, 1939, in Johnson County; daughter of Edwin and Kathryn (Taylor) Records. She graduated from Iowa City High in 1958 and went onto earn her nursing degree. She worked as an OR nurse for 10 years at the University of Iowa Hospitals, and 26 years at Mercy Hospital, retiring in 1998. She was married to Bill Jones, who passed away in 1972, and later married Gene Rarick, who passed away in 2002. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church and their Altar Guild. As an avid reader, she spent many hours reading but also enjoyed animals and supporting Hawkeye football. Her family includes her son, Eric Jones (Susan) of Seattle, WA; grandchildren, Johnson, Julia and Jackson; sister, Sarah Fister (Jon) of Waterloo, IA and brother, David Records (Marlene) of South Haven, MS. Judy was preceded in death by her husbands; parents; two brothers, Jim and Ed "Bud" Records and sister, Joan Bontrager. Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service is caring for Judy's arrangements.
