Obituary of Ramona D. Parrott

Ramona D. Parrott, age 78 formerly of Iowa City died Friday, December 1, 2006, at the Parkview Manor Care Center in Wellman following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 5, 2006, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Iowa City with the Reverend Michael Phillips officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Iowa City. Visitation will be from 4 to 8pm Monday at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service where a parish vigil service will be held at 7:30 p.m.. Ramona Dorothy Baculis Parrott was born November 2, 1928 in Iowa City the daughter of George and Dorothy (Fischer) Baculis. She attended schools in Iowa City graduating from City High School in 1946. In 1947 she married Robert Lewis Parrott. Ramona had worked in the city clerk’s office for the City of Iowa City, at the University of Iowa Credit Union, and Lenoch & Cilek Hardware store, before retiring. She was a lifelong member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church; she loved her gardening and flowers. Her family includes three sons; Dennis Parrott and his wife, Charlotte of Iowa City; Wayne Parrott and his wife, Sandy of Iowa City, and Kevin Parrott of North Liberty; seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and brothers, George Baculis and his wife, Diane, and David Baculis and his wife, Karen all of Iowa City. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and daughter, Katherine Williams. Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service is caring for Ramona’s family and her services.
