Sondra Lee Kline was born August 24, 1934, in Duluth, Minnesota the daughter of George and Eunice (Johnson) Kline. She attended schools in Lone Tree graduating at the age of 17 from Lone Tree High School with the class of 1951. On June 1, 1953 she was united in marriage to Vern E. Schnoebelen in Lone Tree. The couple made their home in Iowa City where they raised their three children and Sondra worked for the Iowa City Community Schools for many years, most of those years were spent at Horace Mann Elementary School. As a mom she was always there at all the kid's school functions and other things they were involved with, and when she became grandma, this continued with much pride and many smiles! She and Vern enjoyed their motor home whether tailgating at an Iowa Game or traveling across the country, with family and friends. One of their favorite destinations was Las Vegas, not only to visit their son and family, but for other reasons which she was pretty good at! Sondra belonged to a couple of bridge groups in Iowa City; she was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, and also a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. For Sondra what was most near and dear to her heart was her family, especially at the holidays, she dearly loved this time with them!
Her family includes her husband and traveling partner, Vern; three children, Dan Schnoebelen (JoAnn Connor) of Twin Falls, ID; Deborah Lee (Peter) of Portsmouth, VA; and Jim Schnoebelen (Julie) of Cedar Rapids; 5 grandchildren, Drew, Ann, Zachary, Joy, and Grant; brothers, David Kline (Marge) of Robins, IA and Doug Kline of Clarksville, TN; her sister-in-law, Jean Schneider of Edwardsville, Il; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and step-father, Richard Myers.
