Rod and I were twelve-year classmates graduating in 1974 from Estelline. Rod made most of our class reunions, and I always enjoyed visiting with him. He was a farmer always at heart, and we shared stories as I have farmed all my life near Estelline. We spent time together after we graduated and shared some fun times. He will be dearly missed, especially at our class reunions when his classmates see another empty chair in the room. My sympathy to the family he left behind.

Rod was like a second brother to me growing up and was so thoughtful and always lent a helping hand when needed. Sounds like that stayed with him his whole life. He will be greatly missed by all. May your good memories & friends help you through these difficult times.

Danielle and family, I know this is a very difficult time for you. Keep in mind all the wonderful memories you have of your dad, they will help comfort you during the difficult times. You are in my thoughts.

So terribly to hear of the loss of Rod. His mother Vivian and my Grandmother Clara were sisters. We spent a lot of time as children at Pete and Vivian's farm where Rod grew up. We went to Estelline to school together and rode the same school bus as well. I am terribly sorry we have lost touch with him over the years. The Rod I knew was a very genuine and caring person and would, in fact, do anything for anyone. Please know you have my deepest sympathy.
