Roderick Anton Wiese was born December 29, 1955, in Brookings, SD, the son of Wallace "Pete" and Vivian Freed Wiese. He loved the time he spent farming with his father while growing up and after graduating from high school in Estelline, SD. He married Cheryl Berg on October 3, 1981 in Watertown, SD. After completing the lineman program at the Mitchell Technical Institute, the couple and their family moved to Amana in July of 1991. Here he worked as a high voltage lineman for the Amana Society Service Company up until his death.
Rod's life was his family and friends; he was in his glory whenever he was with his granddaughters! He enjoyed his motorcycle, being outside, hunting, caring for his home some who might say a bit too meticulous; and his faithful companion, Bailey, a Red Fox Lab. He was one who was there whenever you needed a hand, and one that simply loved life.
His family includes his two children, Ben Wiese of Amana; and Danielle Allen and her husband, Travis of Tiffin; granddaughters, Imigyn and Channing Stratton and Olivia Allen; his significant other, Tracy Harms of Toledo, IA and her family; and his former wife, Cheryl Wiese of Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and infant twins at birth.
Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service is caring for His family and services.
