Pamela R. "Heck" Jones

Condolences
It's been just over two years since I lost my best friend, soul mate and beloved wife Pam. I think of her each and every day ~ what a wonderful life she had and was able imprint on so many different people. She brought joy and happiness to everyone around her ~ just like pure sunshine. As you can imagine, I miss her tremendously (i.e. her beautiful smile, giddy laugh, tender touch, etc.). She made me such a better person, father, and husband.
Think of Pam often especially with the new Radiation Center opening. Miss that smile.
Our dearest Pam, it has been a year since you left us. There isn't a day go by that we don't think of you and wish we could see that beautiful smile. We love you and miss you , Hugs Your Family
To the family of Pam Jones.
My sincere sympathy to all of you. Pam touched everyone in a way that you knew she was your forever friend. I knew I could call and she would take the time to help or offer herself in any way needed. She touched many lives and was so charismatic. May your memories stay close to your hearts. Julie Wernimont
To All of Pam's Family: I just found out about Pam's passing and want to say how saddened I am. I knew Pam from the time I started elementary school at Roosevelt. We shared many memories including Brownies and after school get-togethers. I was always jealous of Pam's accordion that had a diamond in the keyboard! Who else has a friend who can play the accordion... I also enjoyed our times together on sports teams at Northwest Junior High and West High School. (Much more than when I had to try to hit her superfast pitching during summer softball league--she always struck me out!) I was always appreciative of her kindness and generosity, and of the generosity of her mother, giving me rides home when I needed them from the millions of practices we had. When I was working at UIHC, I would run in to Pam and we would spend time catching up on our families and lives since "the old days." Pam's love for her family, her job and her life was evident.
Marty,
I do not work very closly with you but have admired your enthusiaum for your job when we have interacted. I am very sorry for your loss. There are no words I know to ease your suffering, but encourage you to lean on those closest to you and her for support. I will pray for you and your family.
Dessie Myers (ICU)
Pam was such a great person in our lives. During the time at Hall Radiation, Pam and the others really went out of their way to make us feel like part of the family.
Marty, I just wanted to let you know that I've cried some tears for you. I know that you have struggled and juggled between work and home while trying to deal with Pam's illness. My prayers are with you and your family during this difficult adjustment. Take care my friend.
Marty & Chris -
Dear Dave, Deb and the Heck and Jones Families,
I am saddened to hear of Pam's passing, I have known Pam since our days at Roosevelt Elementary, Northwest and West High. I have never met a kinder and gentler soul. Pam's perpetual warmth and kindness were truly unique. Even in grade school, she had a special kindness, maturity and perspective well beyond her years. I fondly recall how Pam routinely "Stole the Show" during grade school talent shows with her musical talents, including, a particularly impressive accordion performance.
My Thoughts and Prayers are with you during this difficult time.
James Wilson and Family
Our sincere sympathy to all of you! I'm glad I was able to tell Pam how much we all appreciated everything she did for West High football. She always had a wonderful smile and a calm and caring approach. What a wonderful person she was! I know she will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
James and I are very sad to hear of your mother's passing, Chris.
Be strong and remember the great times you shared with her.
We will keep you and your family in our thoughts!
I am saddened to hear of Pam's passing. I will remember her as one of the nicest human beings to ever grace this world. The warm greeting and smile she always had for everyone will be missed but never forgotten. I am sorry to all for your loss and pray for your peace and healing.

Dear Marty, Chris and family,
I was greatly saddened by Pam's passing. You have my deepest sympathy. Marty, the many stories of Pam and Chris that you have shared over the years have made me feel like I know them. In this difficult time keep family and friends near. God bless you.
Pam - I love you more than you know. You were a wonderful light in my life....I consider you and you're family as my own family. We went on trips together, spent hours in your living room laughing, telling stories and then down the hill to the Golden Corral for lunch. In my 48 years, I have no better memories than spending time with you and the entire Heck/Jones family. I spoke to your mom the other day; she mentioned looking through all the pictures of you, family and friends. You were the 'glue', always steady, looking out for others before yourself and wonderfully humble, fun and gracious on every level. And a true testament to your character; you allowed me to sing at your wedding. That experience will hold a very special place in my life. Your generous, lovely, soul belongs in a special spot. I'm hoping it's with my other sister Mary Beth...you both possessed such wonderful grace and loveliness in the world. Smiles that no one could fake and a genuineness that is rare. I love you and the beauty you left in your wake. To my favorite dancing bear!!!
To the families of Pam-
We are very sad to learn of Pam's passing. We have known her since she was a child and she was always a sweet kind person. I am sorry that I was unable to come to the visitation and funeral but I have just gotten out of the hospital today. Robert Kahler
I was so sorry to hear of Pam's passing. What a beautiful person! I have known Pam since she and our daughter played basketball and softball against each other (West vs. City High). I was so pleased when she chose to enroll in Radiography School at Iowa. She was a wonderful student and so great with patients. She really was a success story. I'm sure you have a big hole in your heart which I pray her loving memories will fill. My prayers are with your family.
What a beautiful picture. Thick blonde hair blowing in the wind as she watched Chris. A smile that never ended. The soft slow voice that captured everyone. Everyones friend. Never a bad word. Go Hawks. I will always remember you. Thank you for your support at Hall Radiation. You are loved.
Marty and Chris;
I worked with Pam closely for the last 10+ years. She was such a caring person. She always remembered everyone's birthday and she knew every volunteer who worked in our department! She always went to above and beyond to help and support her coworkers. She made us laugh by telling us so many fun stories about her family, her trips, her dogs, her nieces and nephews. Pam's spirit will live in our memories forever!
I have never known a kinder, gentler soul! I worked with Pam at Mercy. I was the director of the rad center for a couple of years. Pam was a delight to work with, so competent, a quiet force, just a lovely human being. I am so sorry for the hole she's leaving your hearts. It was a privilege for me to have known her.
Rest in peace Pam. We will miss you! We will pray for Marti and Chris. Thanks for being such a great friend and colleague.
Our thoughts and prayers have been and continue to be with the Jones and Heck families. I believe we are all aware that Pam is now resting in a better place and memories of her smile and laughter will always be with us.

I was very saddened to have been informed of the death of Pam. She was a very cheerful and wonderful person as well as quite the softball player. Her smile, as in the photo, is what I will always remember. I wish her family well during this most difficult time.
I'm so sorry to hearing this news. I knew Pam from her UIHC days. She was such a sweet person and always, always smiling. I can see how she was voted the friendliest person of her senior class. She was always so nice and upbeat. I'm sure there is a special place for her in heaven for she was a gentle soul.

I met Pam when our 2 boys played baseball together in little league. She made an impact on me and I truly enjoyed talking with her at the games. We had a radiology background in common as well. I don't remember too many families from back then but I definitely remember hers. She was always smiling and was a very positive happy person and a delight to have been around. I am glad I had a chance to get to know her for at least a little while. I keep thinking about her since I read about her passing and I am very saddened by it. I will keep the family in my thoughts and prayers and hope all the wonderful memories posted here give them a little joy to know she impacted so many.

Marty and family,
I'm very sorry to hear of Pam's passing. I worked with her at the University of Iowa when she was a dosimetrist and I was a therapist. She always had that big beautiful smile on her face and only had encouraging and positive things to say. Please accept my deepest sympathy for your loss. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
Pam was a year behind me in xray school. She was one of the sweetest people I've ever had the pleasure to meet. She always greeted everyone with a smile and had a way of turning the cloudiest of days right side up again. If you ever met Pam, you knew she was a friend for life. She will be deeply missed. Thoughts and prayers to her family and friends.
I graduated with Pam from West High School. She was one of the nicest people I ever knew. We laughed a lot in basketball and other activities. She was a good friend to everyone. I just smile when I think of her...Always have, always will.
So sorry to hear of Pams passing. I always enjoyed visiting with her when she would come in to the Holden Cancer Center. She was a bright spot in our day. Always came in with a smile & a positive greeting. Such a joy just to be around her. Prayers to you all.
Pam and I were in Chorus together at IC West High. She was always so happy, generous and such a great friend. We were both dancers in the Scottish Highlanders, that is where I really got to know her. She was such a light in my life and I'm sure she continued to be throughout her adult life. My condolences to her family, I know she will be dearly missed by many.
Dear Heck family,
