Curtis Ray Miller Sr.

Condolences
To the Miller Family,
A message to Curtis' family: I taught at West High School for many years and Curtis was a shining beacon of friendliness and helpfulness. Our little talks while he was scooting about the chairs and sweeping the floor were a favorite time of my day when I was at West. I ran into him several times after we both had retired, and he told me of his pride in his continuing ministry at his church. I'm sure he was well loved there, and he certainly was also at West High School. I send my deep condolences.
My heart goes out to you all Pastor Miller was the real deal!!! As a teenager I came into contact Evangelist Miller and Pastor Miller they made and everlasting impression on me that I shall never forget Sincerly Elder Robert Green.
I just wanted to say how many nice memories I have of Mr. Miller from my days as a student at West High School. He was always so kind and friendly, and helped me several times in my years there.
I too have lost my father this year and can say with all my heart how sorry I am for your loss.
May God Bless all of you.
-Jenny
To the family of Curtis,
I am truly sorry for your loss. I worked with Curtis at West High and he was one of the finest men that I've ever met. He took such pride in his work and was a true professional. West High School never looked better than when he was in charge.
I am so sorry for your loss. I've been praying for you, that God gives you the strength and peace that passes all understanding in this difficult time. I regret not being there today for you and your family, but I have you and your family in my thoughts.
Carmencita - Thinking of you and your family during this time. May your memories give you strength to heal.
Sis Miller and family, I was so sadden to see in the gazett that Rev Miller had passed away. He was such a beautiful person and such a delightful person to talk to. I can remember the years of him growing up here in Cedar Rapids and he was the same person then. He always up lifted me when he had such kind words to say.
I was always a delight to have him come into my shop with you. He made my day. I really missed the two of you and the whole family after my retirement. May God Bless You, and the family. LOVE YOU!
James and Paulette Clark
You were always so nice to me in school and we had good talks about god thankyou for being a blessing
Curt became my friend at Grant Wood School in Cedar Rapids. I often went back to school to work in the evening and it was a comfort to know that Curt was in the building. A hard and dedicated worker, he encouraged my husband and myself to attend his church, which we did on a couple of Sundays. He was a kind man, anxious to serve the Lord, and had such a wonderful countenance about him. I am so glad that he was a part of my life. And I am so sorry to read of his passing.
Dear Miller Family
May God bless and keep your family during this sorrowful time. Curtis brought a lot of joy into my high school years. His kindness meant a great deal to me - more than he realized, I'm sure, during this life, but now I have no doubt that he understands completely. It was a blessing to know him.
Those who bring sunshine to the lives of others cannot keep it from themselves.
We knew Curtis from his West High School tenure. He worked harder than anybody at the school, always going above and beyond expectations (the first to arrive and the last to leave). He came to work everyday --even when he was sick or feeling poorly. He made every day bearable and beautiful. Curtis was kind and good to everybody; always with a ready smile, a helping hand, a comforting word --a constant source of solace and a haven for harried souls. He never forgot a birthday or special occasion, and long after we left West High, Curtis continued to send greeting cards our way every year on our birthdays. We will miss that. It was a joy and a pleasure to have been included in his world. We are all the richer for having known him.
Deepest condolences to the Miller family. Those of us who knew and loved him deeply share your loss.
Our prayers and thoughts are with you all. We know there are no words that can be said during this time of loss, but knowing God will be your Comforter is. We know that Curtis was a faithful servant of the Lord and will be missed by many.
Curtis was one of our best shoppers, always had a smile and something nice and cheerful to say to us. He remembered our names and greeted us by our names. We will surely miss his nice smile at Walmart. Laura your dad was great and we shall miss him.
I had Curtis , Jr and Carmen in classes at Clear Creek Amana high school and enjoyed then both very much. I never met Rev. Miller but I feel I miss a lot by never having done so. My thoughts and prayers are with each of you and I pray that God will wrap each of you in His arms of love and give each of you comfort. Just know that he is now with our heavenly Father and you will see him again. God Bless each of you! Donna L. Mustaine
Curtis was one of the sweetest, kindest men we have ever known. Our thoughts and prayers are with Rosalie and the rest of the Miller family.
My thoughts and prayers are with you Mrs. Miller and all of his children. This kind man and preacher of God was such a gentle soul. He once accepted me into his family without hesitation. May God give you strength and peace during this time. Laura and Curtis, my thoughts are with you.
Dear Miller Family,
I am writing this message on behalf of my mother, Betty (Vozenilek) Smith of Cedar Rapids, who knew Curtis from school. She says:
My sincerest sympathies to family and friends. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
I was sorry to hear about the passing of Curtis. I met him briefly as some of his children attended Clear Creek schools at the same time as some of my older children. He always was friendly and Curtis, Jr. and Carmen were friends of my children. May the Lord comfort your family.
Sorry to hear about your loss, will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers during this time. Jean Newquist
Deepest sympathy to family and friends from our Nationwide family in Des Moines and Columbus, OH
It was a pleasure working with Curtis at West High School. He was always so positive about life. We had a good time watching him dance in the halls:)
Carmen, Curtis and all... I am sorry to hear about your father's passing. I don't remember if I ever met him, but his kids are awesome! Love to you all and many prayers. Eileen and Dwayne Schmidt (Eileen Loan from high school)
Hi Miller Family,
I just wanted to say I'm so sorry of the passing of this friendly man. I remember the nice smile he and his sweet wife both have. He didn't just preach the word of God I could tell he walked it and lived it everyday of his life for Jesus. What a wonderful witness he was a good bright light to show us the true way to God's kingdom. Laura I have known all of my life as a friend. He is at peace and enjoying his retirement from this earth with God in heaven. He preached and showed us the path to God now the rest is up to us to follow.
Love in Jesus, Joyce Blakey
My condolences Laura. Nov 7th was my husbands birthday. I did not know your Father but my nephew unbeknownst to me sure did. He has been speaking of his great love for this gentleman who died as he meant so much to him. Said was a great mentor. Isnt this nice to hear at this time.? Time does heal Laura. I lost my Dad at age 4 so have no memories at all so you are truly blessed with many I am sure.
I very sorry for your loss, Laura. Hold tight to all of your memories. They will carry you through the hard times ahead. I am sorry I am out of town so I cannot come to the visitation. May God grant your father eternal rest and comfort you and your whole family during this time.
