Condolences
Lillian was a very good friend of my grandmas i didn't know her really well but I will always remember her smile and her sweet voice. she was the sweetest lady i have ever met.
Although I know that no words can ease the loss you feel, just know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. May the good Lord comfort you and your family during this time of mourning.
My thoughts and prayers to the family.
I loved your mom so much, although I was not good at keeping in touch with her through the years. She was the most amazing, gracious and kind lady that everyone should have the honor of knowing as I did. Remember how we used to play at your house and as I got older, I babysat with you three kids. I remember teaching Ed how to dial "911" on the phone. Your mom could probably have killed me, but I just wanted him to always be safe. No matter how much time passed in between visits with your mom, it was as though I had just talked to her the day before ~ she never had an unkind word to say about anyone. What a smile -- it lit up everything around you. She was such a blessing to anyone she came into contact with. I know you kids will miss her....I'm sure she and my folks are getting caught up on the years they missed being together. I'm so sorry....I know God's arms are around her giving her peace. I have always loved you three kids....please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you always.
Lillian was a kind person. I knew her for many years at "The Towers." We lived across the hall from each other. She shared her newspaper with me and her friendship. I will be keeping the family in my prayers.
Thinking of Lillian brings a smile to my face. She was a spunky lady who looked out for others. She will be missed. I have the pleasure of knowing Ed and of meeting Barbara, and would like to send them each a "hug." Condolences to the whole family.
Dear Family of Lillian McCormick,
I have known and worked with this dear woman since 1992 through the RSVP volunteer program both in Iowa City and Burlington. Lillian served on both Advisory Councils. She was a leader, meeting and conquering challenges with her determined, gentle and positive spirit. She was also an amazing role model for youth through our Pen Pal program for so many years.
Love and Blessings to you all. Joan Cook
My condolences to Lillian's family.
Lillian was a pen pal in our 2nd grade classroom since she moved to Iowa City. I have many wonderful memories of her visits over the years. I remember with a smile the video she made with one her pen pals (Ethel). We enjoyed her letters which often told about times past. She was always so good with the students and shared funny stories. Lillian was a dear, sweet lady, and we will miss her so much. Glenda Arganbright, Horn Elementary
Linda, Ed and Barb - My sympathies on the loss of your mother.
Warm thoughts and condolences to Barb and Steve Duncan and the rest of your family at the loss of your Mother.
Deepest sympathies,
Lillian was a very special lady. Her life was rich b/c she cared about others and did what she could to let them know it. For example she volunteered to play the piano for the monthly Birthday Gathering Celebration for all the residents. She told the best jokes and enjoyed entertaining conversations daily with residents and myself. She had great enthusiasm for life and other peoples' successes as an advocate for excellence, her attention to detail and strong work ethic made others successful no matter what obstacles they faced. She was gentle with others and had a sense what was really important to them. I just love seeing her smile, she lit up our world. We were all blessed at Ecumenical Towers to know and love her back. She will forever be remembered.
My condolences,
Donna Henn
