Condolences
Jim and Ginger. I am saddened to hear of your loss. Please know that my prayers are with you all.
Wenman Family sorry for your loss. Toy will all be in my prayers. Keep the good memories in your hearts forever. God Bless
Ginger and Jim, Brad and I were so sorry to learn of your Dad's passing. Your parents were so special and were such an important part of my life for many years. I have wonderful memories-fun, sometimes hilarious, happy memories and I will always cherish them.
Unfortunately, we cannot make the services as our nephew is graduating from Des Moines University on Saturday. Please know our thoughts will be of you and your family. With sympathy, Brad and Patty Sterner
To the family of the late James R. Wenman:
Please accept my sincere condolences on the passing of your family patriarch,James. I had the privilege of working with Jim over a period of several decades at the UIHC – he was a wonderful human being and a superbly skilled craftsman. Jim will be remembered by many of us as an outstanding professional who did superior work for the UIHC, while being a highly devoted family man. His delightful personality and warm humility are traits we should all emulate.
I regret very much that a long planned visit to Chicago this weekend stands in the way of my attending Jim’s funeral this Saturday. Please know that I will be remembering him in my prayers.
With warm condolences,
John W. Colloton
P.S. I have sent a donation to Pioneer Park Village in memoriam of Jim.
I'm having a difficult time writing this because all the memories of Jim keep flooding into my thoughts ! What a great guy ! A mentor a comic a heart as big as Texas he will be missed ! All of the Loomers will celebrate his life ! Love Kirk and Julie
Jim was a great guy! We bowled with Jim & Geni on a Friday night mixed league at Coral lanes for several years in the late 70's and enjoyed their company. Also lived just east is them at corner of nineteenth ave & ninth street. He will be missed!
Ginger and Jim, I want you to know that I am thinking of you both at this time. Jim was a very good neighbor. He was the last of the good old days when the neighborhood was how it was meant to be. The cabinet that your father built is still hanging in my home and I have thought of him often. May he rest in peace.
Jim was one-half of my parents' fall back plan-my guardians -should something happen to them. Both he and Ginny took that role seriously.
Jim always made me feel as treasured as my parents did, and I adored his gentle and caring ways growing up. I still remember thinking he was the coolest thing ever when he took me to the firehouse and turned on the engine lights!
My father didn't make friends easily, but he loved Jim and always was a much happier person around him.
This world is a little colder and darker today without him in it, but I challenge all of you to live as he did: with a cheerful heart full of love and generosity. Share the light for Jim.
Go Mustard!
Love always,
Laura

Sending love and comfort to my friend Ginger and family. You all are in my thoughts and prayers.
Jim was the best neighbor we could have asked for when we moved in to Coralville. He was a true example of a devoted husband and role model. His dry wit and sense of perspective was enjoyed and appreciated by both of us. The neighborhood "committee" gatherings in the drive ways during the warmer months are some of our fondest memories. Though he did not enjoy yard work, he willingly followed Ginni around and did all the "honey do's" required. While we are saddened by the loss, we will celebrate his life and keep all the fond memories alive.
John and I met Jim through our Tuesday nite dinner group. He was always all smiles, so happy to see everybody. He will be dearly missed. Mary
I am so sorry to hear that Jim gained his wings and is no longer with us. He was one person that I enjoyed visiting with at the LTCC and I will miss him. I will also miss you, Ginger, our conversations. Please know that the Wenman family is in my thoughts and prayers.
Jim was my model for what gentleman truly is. Jim and Ginny welcomed us in to the Tuesday night group and ,as others did, invited us for the fourth of July parade. Much more than that he was always welcoming and weathered many a ""storm" during his time with us as good men of faith do. Larry and Judy.
