Obituary of Samuel G. Dundon

Samuel G. Dundon, 59, of Tiffin, died suddenly Friday, June 10, 2016. A gathering for family and friends to celebrate Sam's life will be held from 4-8 p.m., Thursday, June 16th at the Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. Memorials in his memory may be made to the Sam Dundon Memorial Fund. Samuel George Dundon was born October 9, 1956, in San Antonio, Texas; son of Lewis and Helen (Perales) Dundon. He graduated from Iowa City West High School and worked most of his life installing flooring, a job he loved and took great pride in. When not working, he enjoyed Hawkeye football, the Dallas Cowboys and watching those old westerns. In his school years he played baseball, a tradition he shared with his son, Kyle; coaching him through his high school years. Sam’s family includes his three children, Kyle and Andy Dundon both of Iowa City and Mikayla Bly and her husband, Ryne of Coralville; his former wife and mother of their childen, Barb Dundon; sisters, Sandy Wray and her husband, Tom of Riverside and Sally Stange and her husband, Tom of Coralville; brother, Johnny Dundon and his wife, Mary Ann of East Jacksonville, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Helen, and siblings, Lewie Dundon, Nancy Heitzman, Jill Miller, and Susan Anderson.
