Obituary of Benjamin C. Huber

Benjamin "Duff" Charles Huber - 9/9/1937 – 8/25/2016 Ben Huber, son of Arnold and Mildred (Yarbrough) Huber, passed away at the Solon Care Center on August 25, 2016. There will be a military service at Legion Park (Elm Street, Solon, IA) at 6:00 p.m., on Thursday, September 1, followed by a celebration of life at the Solon Legion (222 E Main St. - Solon, IA) Ben was a sergeant in Company B 1st Airborne, Battle Group 506th Infantry, 3rd US Army from August 23, 1960, to July 19, 1966. Ben enjoyed catching and cooking turtles, playing baseball, stock car racing, mushroom hunting, deer hunting, and fishing. He is survived by a sister, Marilyn Merritt, and brothers, Skip (Pat) and Jim (Connie) Huber, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, John and Paul, nephews, Steve Merritt, Gary Huber, and Joe Huber. Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service is assisting with Ben's arrangements.
