I'm saddened to learn of SFC Detweiler's passing, my deepest sympathies to his remaining family and loved ones. I had the pleasure of serving with him in Germany, from 1978 to 1980, he was my supervisor. Always a pleasant, professional NCO and leader, and a sterling example for all to follow. I've often had great memories of SFC Detweiler, may he RIP.

I have many warm memories of Freeman during the years that he, along with Ivan and Steve, did painting at my house in Cedar Rapids. He was always a very kind man and one who was meticulous in his work. I'm glad to have known him and am sorry to hear of his death.
