Obituary of William E. Stroud
William E. “Bill” Stroud, 66, of Iowa City, passed away Monday, February 26th at the University of Iowa Hospitals.
Funeral Services will be held 10 am, Friday, March 2nd at the Gay & Ciha Funeral Service with visitation Thursday from 4-7 pm. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery. William Earl Stroud was born September 21, 1951, to Earl W. and Irene M. (Kelley) Stroud. He was a lifelong resident of this area and worked for the Iowa Department of Transportation on their Highway Commission for over 25 years.
Bill was known to many for his outgoing personality, distinct laugh, love for cars and enjoyment of car shows as well as time spent socializing with others and sharing some of his home made apple pie.
His family includes his children, Justin Stroud (Morgan) of Iowa City, Kelley Adkins (Malik) of Iowa City and Tina Stroud of North Carolina; grandchildren, Barack Stroud, Kiley and Makayla Adkins and Baby Stroud who’s due in April; siblings, Terry Abbott (Ralph), Diane Siems (Wayne), Barbara Brant, Betty Staley, Robin Cox (Don), Christine Mayers, Edward Stroud and Richard Stroud; former wife, Eunice Stroud; close friend, Cindy Stroud and brother-in-law, Denny Rost.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Frank Stroud, Ron Stroud and Ginger Rost as well as brother-in-law, Rob Mayers.
