Condolences
Please accept my condolences on Dixie's passing. Until reading her obituary, I had no idea about the foster care work she did. That is quite a tribute of her character. May she rest in peace.
My deepest condolences; you are in my thoughts and prayers.
To the family. So very sorry for your loss!! My heart skipped a beat when my son told me she had passed. I remember going to the meat market that her and Rob owned. She always had a smile and gave me the inside information on how good a certain meat is and the best way to prepare it. Later she became maid of honor at our wedding. Then my wife and I took over her cleaning business. She was the only one I would let give me advice on whether a pair of glasses looked good or not. Later when I would see her she always wanted to know how I was doing. Even when I knew she was very sick, she never complained and always seemed to look forward to better times. She was not only my friend, but someone I looked up to. I will miss you my friend!!!!
We are so sorry to read of Dixie’s passing. Our families have been interwoven for many years. Dixie always had a smile and her heart was full of goodness and light. Rob and family please know you are in our prayers.
Dixie was just the Best! Every time I saw her, no matter how tough she felt, she always had that beautiful smile on her face! She lightened my day and improved my attitude! Rob and kids....you have the Mangold's deepest sympathies!
What a wonderful woman Dixie was! As I read all that she has accomplished in her life, I remembered the young girl, who along with my little sister Melissa was " always in my way!" I was so happy to have seen Dixie camping recently and caught up with her life! She was so blessed by her family and her family was privileged to have her! RIP Dixie, you will be missed.
We are so sorry to hear about Dixie's passing. We met Dixie when she worked at Vision Center at WalMart and also had a smile and a warm greeting.
Could never have met a nicer person. I thank you for having known you. You are a shining light to all. Will miss you very much.
Dixie was a rare and wonderful person. She was kind, generous, full of energy, a hard worker, and a great wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She had a ready laugh and had the courage to stand up for what she believed. Dixie will live on in the hearts and minds of all who were blessed to know her.
All of the Knabe family
Rob and family, I am very sorry to hear of your loss. I have warm memories of you and Dixie when Larry and I lived in North Liberty. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Please accept my sincere sympathies on the loss of Dixie. She was a good friend and wonderful person.
I'd love to share some of my Dixie memories. I don't remember exactly when I met her but, she became quite a sales person when her GSD had a litter of pups. I didn't really need another dog but, ended up bringing a pup home.
I got to know Dixie much better and we shared many laughs as well as our stories about our children once my son began working at Rob's Meat Market. I always enjoyed my weekly sales call there even though Rob usually oversaw the advertising.
I can never forget attending the wedding. Dixie was a stunning bride in her beautiful dress and a sight to behold!
Will always remember you Dixie. Sincere wishes and hugs to all the family.
Rena and Andy

My condolences to the family. Dixie was a great big sister. Keep me out and in trouble at times. She will be missed by many. Love you Dixie.
I was so saddened to read of Dixie's passing. Her family lived just up the road from us in the country and we became acquainted. When she worked at the WalMart Vision Center I would always have a great visit with her. I have seen her occasionally out and about and she was always so cheerful. I am so sorry for your loss -- what a dear, sweet lady. May God hold you all in the palm of his hand as you say good-bye to Dixie.
What a beautiful loving and caring person she was. Not only was she my cleaning lady for several years but she helped take care of my mother-in law while I was working. We have lost a compassionate lady.
Dixie took care of my Girls when they ran away from home....I could not have asked for a better refuge!! R.I.P. Wonderful Lady!!
Dixie is a former classmate and friend. We recently reconnected through cards & Facebook prior to our 40th year class reunion this past August. Dixie was just as I remembered fun loving, caring and such a nice person. I am so sorry for her family's loss. Dixie could always put a smile on anyone's face. She will be dearly missed. Keeping her family in my thoughts and prayers. Take care.
My heart is breaking for the loss of my dear friend Dixie. To the family I pray you embrace her memories with a smile for the kindness she shared with all she knew. 50 something year friendships are hard to find. My head spins with happy memories of all that we had shared. Love you Dixie, enjoy eternity in the peace of God's Love.
