Obituary of John S. Casper
John S. Casper, age 49, died Saturday, December 1, 2018, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
Memorial services will be held at 6pm Sunday, December 16, 2018, at the Grace United Methodist Church in Tiffin. There will be a time of visitation one hour prior to the services and also following the services. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in John’s memory. John Steven Casper was born October 2, 1969, the son of Kris and Mary Ellen (Coblentz) Casper. John graduated from Clear Creek High school in 1988. On June 20, 2002, he married Joy L. Oaks and the couple has remained in this area. John had a passion for creating things and working with wood. He spent most of his adult life building and finishing cabinetry, as well as in the construction field. He spent much of his spare time creating various objects like tables and stands for his wife as well as other family members and friends. John took great pride when he was able to display his finished creations. John had a great sense of humor. He was respectful of others, honest and deeply cherished his friendships; old and new. John loved his family, he especially loved being goofy with his daughter and spending as much time with her as possible, she was his light of his life. John enjoyed spending time with this two dogs, Tinker and Blue. Blue was his fishing buddy. He loved to watch racing and was a huge Jeff Gordon fan. He also loved to cheer on the Iowa Hawkeyes and UFC fights.
His family includes his wife, Joy; daughter Brooklyn Casper; step-daughter, Whitney Williams; grandson, Parker Hirst; John’s father, Kris Casper; brothers, Kris Casper and Blaine Casper; sister, Dawn Lewis; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. His mother, Mary Ellen Madden preceded him in death.
