Donald L. Frauenholtz
1930 - 2019
Condolences
Don was my mother in law Dorothy Dloughy's cousin and she called me and told me to call Don because he needed some help. That is how I became the bass and banjo player for for Don's Music for five years. Don was a true band leader. He called me and reminded me before every gig, When I got to the gig his standard greeting was "Well Hello There". I always respected Don's energy for his age, he actually raised cows and bailed hay until about a year ago. Don did admit he made "Senior sized bales". I could recognize his old red Buick two miles away. Once he and Thelma stalled out on 1st ave and J street in Iowa City and I rescued them when I spotted old red. Don had a good sense of humor and was a spiritual individual. I hope when he meets Peter at the golden gates he will get the greeting, ""Well hello there" and I'm sure the gate will open wide. I loved him like a family member Rest in Peace my friend.
My sincere sympathy to the Frauenholtz family. I had the joy of working at the wonderful family oriented Protein Blenders company in the 80's with Don. What a sweet, kind man that always had a smile on his face and time to visit. May he rest in peace in the joys of heaven and memories flourish in your hearts forever.

Don was a sweet and wonderful man. Always helpful, cheerful and kind. As many folks in our family, he carried on the musical talent and tradition of generations. As near as I can tell, he lived what would be almost considered the perfect happy life. We do not stay far from those we love for long. He and Thelma are back together now as it should be. With much love and my sincere condolences,
