Obituary of Shawna Minerva Olsen

Shawna “Pixie” Minerva Olsen-Zipse, 12/18/1986-4/25/2020 Our Free Spirit who wandered all 48 states, soared over the rainbow to begin her watch over us on April 25, 2020. We miss you already, always and forever. Shawna was held through her last breath by her fiancé Charles Buell. Her dear friends Billy Barzee, Jill McConnell and Ayla Peterson all maintained physical hold of Shawna as she released herself of all her pain and suffering. We know that she is somewhere running and dancing barefoot in the grass attempting to paint everything her favorite color, rainbow, while flipping us the bird. We will have a celebration of Shawna’s light at a later time. The “feel good fairy” of Rainbow gatherings leaves behind many to celebrate her free spirit: fiancé Charles Buell and his family, her wolfhound Little Guy, her cat Cleopatra, and her dearest friends, Billy Barzee, Jill McConnell, Ayla Peterson, Jessica Williams, Nick Wright and countless others. Her family remaining here includes her brother Brandon Frampton, wife Jen and her favorite niece and nephew Cora and William, her mother Catherine Zipse Frampton, her aunt Willi Zipse-Grimm, uncle Elwood Zipse Jr, cousins Corey Carney and Christopher Carney and their families. Charles’ family includes his mother Shari Lentz Buell, sisters Deana (Seth) Calkins and Elizabeth (Zack) Campbell, nephews Michael Bear II and James and dear family friend Kevin Shannon. Shawna would have been greeted by her father Rodney Olsen, Charles’ father Robert Buell, her grandparents Minerva and Elwood Zipse Sr, and great grandmothers Dorothy Zipse and Lena Neel. Charles and his family would like to thank the following people who have been integral to Shawna in the last few years: Ciarra Shay (Shawna’s caregiver), Hospice Compassus-especially nurses Teri and Tricia, the many teams at UIHC, and UIHC Social Worker Cheri Nielsen.
