Obituary of Sharon Patterson

Sharon Kay Patterson age 63 of Oskaloosa died Friday, October 16, 2020, at the Mahaska Health Center. Sharon was born June 13, 1957, in Marengo, Iowa the daughter of Edwin and Nellie (Fry) Patterson. She graduated from Iowa Valley High School in 1975 in Marengo, later she would graduate from Kirkwood Community College with a degree in small engine repair. She worked at Amana after high school. She went on to drive a taxi in Iowa City throughout the late 70's and early 80's. Many of the stories she'd tell were of her taxi driving days! She worked various customer service jobs over the years. Her most memorable was probably Paul Revere's Pizza in Marengo, IA. She worked there with many good friends. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and children, as well as friends and family. She was an animal lover, growing up her home felt like a zoo! She would hop on a Harley any chance she got! She was an avid collector of many different things. She enjoyed different types of arts and crafts over the years in her free time. She loved the outdoors and was always ready to have a family cookout at a park, lake, or just at home! She loved when her family and friends would get together. Getting together to play games with our good family friends Nancy "Nannie" and Billy "Papa Bill" Conn. Having a her daily chat with Nancy or their secrets trips out to eat. Visits from family friend Chuck "Papa" Gentz. She loved a good road trip, something she and many different friends enjoyed over the years. Her family includes, daughter, Caysie Patterson of Oskaloosa; son, Justin Patterson of Oskaloosa; 8 grandchildren, Tristan Patterson, John Patterson, Jazzmen Patterson, Joseph Patterson, Kreedan Patterson, Jacob Patterson, Xaithan Patterson, and Sterlan Patterson; significant other, Rick Lee, Trenton, MO; daughters-in-law, Ruth Wheeler and Catherine McPeters; sisters, Bonnie Voss of Williamsburg and Linda Patterson of Minnesota; brother, Bob Patterson of Florida; brother- in- law Chuck Jingst (Sharon) of Des Moines; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nellie and Edwin Patterson; brother: Jerry "Andy" Patterson; husband, Peter Jingst; his parents Ruth and Alvin Jingst; as well as many, many good friends over the years.
