Dear Jeff, Julie and Jim –
As mentioned by my sisters, I also enjoyed your mom’s amazing cookies! In many ways, Bev was almost like a second mom to us, and I’ll always remember her humor, generosity, abundant good spirit, and signature expletive, “Good Night!” I hope you are able to find comfort as you share stories about her remarkable life. With greatest sympathy, Carmen Walters Dahlberg
I have such fond memories of Bev including piano, friendliness, coffee drinking, love for her family, etc.. I've missed seeing her for several years. Bev was the person who taught me the most about the importance of prayer which she ingrained in me. She was faithful and knew God was even more faithful. And she always followed up to see how God was working in my life! Such an influence in our family's life.
Jeff, Julie, and Jimmy,
Your mom was the best!!! I have such great memories of her from our neighborhood, school, and church. She was a lady of great faith and friend to all. I still use her recipes and we will be eating her pecan pie this Christmas.
May the love of friends give you comfort. May the love of God give you peace.
God's Blessings, Carla Walters McMillan
My breath caught when I saw Bev's obituary in the paper. I ate breakfast every day at Legacy Pointe Assisted Living with Bev and Charlie (and a couple of others). Her bright personality raised the mood of the dining room each morning. We had many (perhaps too raucous) laughs and stories.
When a piano player would come to play in the Legacy Pointe lobby Bev could always be found sitting on the staircase beside the pianist, singing whatever popular tunes the two of them could remember. Just a special, bright light to all of us who were blessed to know her.

I am so sorry to hear about your Mom. She was a very special lady. I enjoyed working with her in the music ministry at Bethany during the short time we attended. Remembering you in prayer.

So very sorry for your loss. I've know Bev for many years through the Iowa City Christian Women's Club. She was always with a welcoming smile, She was gracious, friendly and a great hostess. We had many CWC Board meetings at her home, and they were always a delight. She will be missed by many. My deepest sympathies to you all....Mary Humston, Iowa City
Bev lived her faith. A lovely, gracious woman with an ever-ready smile. She raised great children and fulfilled God’s purpose for her life. Condolences to her family. God bless her.

I sit here thinking I need some special words. Bev was one of those people that words just don't measure up to who she was. She was very active in Bethany Baptist Church & The River and could fill in where ever she was needed. I always enjoyed her piano and organ playing at Church services. Phyllis and I are feeling the big loss of Bev. Our heart felt condolances to the whole family ! RIP Bev ! God Bless, Gene & Phyllis Vineyard
Julie and Family- Your mother and my mother sat at the same table at Pleasantview. I would often talk to Bev while I was feeding my mom. She did not say much, but those same beautiful eyes from her younger years would always shine on me. She was always so proud of her family! Prayers for peace and comfort from faith, friends, family, and wonderful memories. Dea Epley Birtwistle, Class of 1975
Bev may be gone but her Oatmeal Toll House Cookie Recipe lives on! I grew up enjoying this deliciousness and have subsequently baked countless batches for school, church, athletic and community activities. My kids now bake these cookies. Thank you, Bev, for being a dependable neighborhood mom who had the Best Cookie Recipe Ever!!! May you Rest in Peace, Rise in Glory!

Jeff, Jim and family, we are so sorry to hear of Mrs. Mason's passing. Didn't have the pleasure of meeting her, but I have no doubt she was a lovely person. Please know we wish all of you our best and are thinking of you at this time of sorrow.

Bev was a wonderful lady and a neighbor from my childhood. The entire family was a great family. I think the last time I saw Bev and Charlie was at Carver Hawkeye Arena before an Iowa basketball game. She will be missed.
