Syndy, my wife, and I share your sadness at the sudden passing of Pat. We knew her through New Song Episcopal Church in Coralville where she attended for years. She reached out to Syndy immediately, when she learned that due to breast cancer, Syndy would be subjected to chemotherapy and subsequent hair loss. She turned a head shaving event into a party, and whisked us up to a studio in Cedar Rapids where Syndy could be fitted with a wig. For us it was a bright moment during dark days, and totally thanks to Pat.
This last January I underwent hip replacement surgery, so just after Pat's surgery we visited her at Lantern Park to give her moral support for the slow recovery to come. We had a great chat, and left unaware that we would not see her again. Pat was a wonderful soul, Quiet, thoughtful, and full of love. We need her love now, more than ever, in this unloving world.
