Condolences
Very sorry to hear of Mary's passing. I got to know her well as a fellow research nurse. She was a truly kind, caring and wonderful person. I still remember her excitement and joy when she told me that she was going to be a grandma, and I remember thinking that would be one lucky child to have a grandma like her! She will be greatly missed. Condolences to her family.
I am so sorry to hear of Mary's passing! She was such a kind and caring person. I was lucky to have known her through our mutual work on clinical trials at the University Hospital. She will be dearly missed!
I was fortunate to know Mary through her research and as a friend down the hall. No one left her office without feeling better than when they entered. She was so proud of her family and beamed when she spoke of her grandson. She will be missed so much by so many.

My Condolences to Lee and all the family,
I worked with Mary for a number of years in the Urology Clinic at the University of Iowa.
She was full of love and compassion and gentleness. I can see her standing at the
front desk radiating that love and care for all who were there in any given moment.
I fortunate to have these memories.
Peace to the family,
Sharon Stalkfleet
I was shocked & saddened to hear of Mary’s passing. My sincere sympathy to her entire family. As a fellow nurse, she always had a smile, a hello & such dedication & compassion for her patients. She was always willing to work longer days to help others. I will miss our conversations. God Bless & May her light continue to shine on in each of you.
Mary was kind and gracious to all and was one of those rare people who are sincerely and innately happy. She shared her sense of humor and infectious happiness and optimism with everyone, but I think I will miss her smile the most. For Lee and Kirk, Jessica and Barrett, you were blessed to have shared her life and I wish you peace and loving memories.
I was saddened to hear that Mary passed away. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I remember I enjoyed all the small talks I will have with Mary just standing out in the driveway just chatting away. She is such a sweet and caring person. I feel blessed to have known her and being her neighbor. I am going to miss Mary.
My condolences to the Eno family, and the St John extended family. I have fond memories of visiting the St John family, my cousins. Going on ventures with Mary was always a pleasure, and we always relished her visits to family events. Her bright spirit was evident in her smile, humor, and delightful voice. She was so warm, kind, and so welcoming. She will surely be missed.
My sympathies to Mary's family. I had the pleasure of working with Mary and could always count on her beautiful smile to make difficult times go a little better. She always gave compassionate care to her patients. She made a difference in so many lives and she has left you all with a beautiful legacy. Prayers for comfort and peace for you all.
Mary’s beautiful picture and obituary say it all about this wonderful, loving, caring, and most sincere nurse that I worked with. She was taken too soon. I never met her without a smile on her face..so genuine. I’ll not forget her joy when Kirk was born and how proud she was of her family. Our sympathies and condolences go out to all of you. Over the 30 years I worked with Mary at UIHC, I became familiar with her generosity of heart and strength of spirit. We shared many experiences, both personal and professional, from the time at the State Fair when I watched in horror as she fearlessly downed a deep-fried twinkle, to our trip to D.C. in 2012 which we spent learning about the history of our country and visiting the Viet Nam Memorial. I will miss her more than words can say. Our thoughts are reaching out now to Lee, Kirk and Jessica and little grandson Barrett.

So very sorry for your loss, Mary was always a joyful person and a ray of light. Deepest condolences to the family.
I have so many wonderful memories of my times with Mary, and our times with Lee and Mary. One of the best was her 40th surprise birthday party and having her mom there. Another was her immense joy at Kirk and Jesse’s wedding. And so many more. Mary was beautiful, warm, caring, giving, grateful. And a great conversationalist(!!!). I am so grateful for her friendship and I was sometimes surprised that she chose me. I love her so much and love to Lee.’
Lee, we will miss sitting by Mary, seeing her smiling face and hearing her enthusiastic cheers at the Iowa Women's basketball games. She became a fast friend to all of us. Wishing you love and peace, Rachel, Kelvin, Phyllis
I worked with Mary at the hospital and will miss her kind heart and sweet smile.

Dear Lee, Kirk, Jess and the St. John Family,
I was surprised and shocked to learn of Mary's passing and am sending my heartfelt condolences to all of you. Mary put family and friends first and was loved by everyone who knew her.
I started working with Mary over 35 years ago, we shared similar written initials, and since I started before Mary, she graciously added "MPE" as her initials signature--silly things that we laughed about over the years. We shared stories of our husbands and talked about our families, she was so proud of Kirk's success and dedication to flying!
You can imagine the fun we both had talking of Kirk marrying a wonderful woman who's parents we knew from Clive. I am sure the stories over time will turn the tears and sadness into smiles and happy memories.
You have a piece of her and she will always be with you. Sending virtual hugs and prayers for peace. Love, Mary Lepic
I loved running into Mary at the hospital and at the grocery store. We reminisced about our teenage years 50 years ago when we were neighbors.
Mary was always smiling and so sweet. I am really sorry to read about her passing. My sympathies to Her family.

Lee, Kirk and the St John family,
My sincere sympathy to you all on the loss of Mary. What a truly genuine and kind person she was. I have known and worked with Mary for decades. She was always so hard working but also so positive and upbeat. Mary always had a smile and made work on the challenging days bearable. When we no longer worked together I would run into her (usually at the grocery store) and we would catch up. She loved you all deeply and was proud of each one of you. I think she will continue to watch over you all.
The photo you selected is the essence of Mary.
