Obituary of Dan Kepler
Daniel C. Kepler passed away unexpectedly at his home in Iowa City on July 8th, 2021. He was 63 years old.
Dan was born August 22, 1957, in Estherville, Iowa, the son of Gerald and Loretta (Van Houten) Kepler.
Dan was a hard worker. He worked management in many different jobs, ranging from the A&W in Estherville, Panda Express, Smart Art, Aarons Rental; and Mr. Movies, where he met his significant other, Melissa.
Dan was a jokester and very sarcastic, much of his wit can be attributed to his intelligence. He was smart as a whip. He could talk non-stop but was very outgoing. His intelligence was only matched by his kindness and generosity. His kind nature extended to those around him, whether it be family, friend or animal. Dan was eclectic in his interests. He enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys, talking about Sci-Fi (he loved Star Trek) and Fox News or discussing politics to those who would listen. Dan had a kind and loving heart and will be missed by all who knew him.
Surviving Dan is his cherished significant other, Melissa; loved ones, Missy (Daniel) Curtis, Daneka Carlson and Jadeyn Carlson; siblings, Dale (Sheila) Kepler and Terri Luhmann; and numerous nieces and nephews. Sadly, Dan is preceded in death by his sister, Cathy Foster, His Uncle Lee and His Parents.
Dan’s family have arranged a simple cremation in accordance with his wishes. Please continue to keep his family in your thoughts and your prayers during this difficult time.
