Riley Scott Heumphreus was born February 16, 2004, in Iowa City the son of Scott and Amy (VanBeek) Heumphreus.  Riley has been a motor head since he was a kid. He was passionate about auto mechanics and he specialized in small engine repair. His proudest feat was his lawn care and snow removal business he started with his father years ago.

Riley was a high energy, free spirit with a strong desire to get out and live life every day. He enjoyed working on anything mechanical and welding. He had an unquenchable thirst for knowledge, the world was his classroom without limitations. He was known to be a mentor to anyone who was willing to learn. He had the passion, drive and ambition to take on anything put before him. If it had wheels or a motor he was figuring it out; giving up was not an option. He was very strong willed and never backed down from a challenge. His love for the outdoors was expressed through fishing, snowmobiles, boats, anything he could drive, going to the roller damn, and he enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

His family includes his parents, Amy & Scott Heumphreus, siblings, Curtis and Shelby Heumphreus; uncle, Jerry Heumphreus; aunt, Amy (Brian) Crossett; a niece, Wrenly and several cousins.

Riley was preceded in death by his grandparents, brother, Morgan and uncle, PJ VanBeek.
