Obituary of Kim Carline Bryant

Kim Bryant age 45 of 543 Mineral Point Lane, Iowa City passed on Wednesday, February 25, 2004 at her home surrounded by family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm. Sunday, February 28, 2004 at Gay and Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery in Iowa City at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. Visitation will be on Sunday from 11:00 am. until service time at 1:00 pm. at the funeral home in Iowa City. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Kim Bryant Memorial Fund. Online condolences may be sent to her family at www.gayandciha.com, click on obituaries. Kim Carline Bryant was born on January 19, 1959 in Chicago, Illinois the daughter of Georgia Partee Bryant. She attended Chicago Schools and the Sharon Doran School of Cosmetology in Iowa City. She helped a lot of people through her counseling career. Kim was a member of the women’s writing group in Iowa City. She enjoyed bowling, reading and collecting African American Art. Kim was known as “Moms” to many. Her home was a warm and welcome haven to family and friends. The light of her life was her granddaughter, Tiondra. Her family includes her daughters, Kimyca Bryant and Kimyl Bryant, granddaughter Tiondra Bryant, sister, Sandra and husband Jerome Whittington all of Iowa City, two brothers, Anthony and wife Diana Bryant of Coralville, Kevin and wife Tirza Bryant of the Netherlands, eight nieces and nephews, six great nieces and nephews, three aunts, Erma Tatum of California and Adah Williams of Arizona, Pam and Eddie Carter of Chicago, Illionis along with a number of extended family and friends including her soul mate Bruce Davis and best friend Jwahir Dawson She was preceded in death by her mother, two brothers Lionel and Maurice. The Gay and Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service are caring for Kim’s services and her family.
